contemporary hit radio stations as the third single to be released from the album on February 18, 2014. The song charted at numbers 93 and 81 on the UK Singles Chart and US Billboard Hot 100 respectively based on downloads alone, following the release of Magna Carta Holy Grail. "Part II (On the Run)" is a slow-tempo Electro- R&B ballad instrumentally complete with synths and drums, and its lyrics refer to a rebellious couple in love and describe their dangerous relationship. It is viewed as a sequel to Beyoncé and Jay-Z's 2002 collaboration " '03 Bonnie & Clyde", a song which was rumored to be about their relationship. The song was written by Jay-Z, James Fauntleroy, Timbaland, and J-Roc while the production was handled by the latter two. Beyonce includes Jay Z in the video. When she says “I made you cry when I walked away, And although I promised that I couldn’t stay, baby, Every promise don’t work out that way” I try figure out whether this song is meant to be saying what happened when she stayed with Jay Z or her thinking back on the good times they had together or maybe." Part II (On the Run)" is a song recorded by American rapper Jay-Z from his twelfth studio album Magna Carta Holy Grail (2013) featuring American singer and wife Beyoncé. The last song that sticks out to me is “Sandcastles”.This song is extremely depressing because everything is in black and white, and she plays the piano as her beat unlike her other songs. She is sees everything Jay Z is doing and she just wants him to realize she knows and to stop. This is the sorrowful song on her album. When she says “Pray to catch you whispering, I pray you catch me listening,I’m prayin’ to catch you whispering ,I prayin’ you catch me”.Usually people don’t want to be caught eavesdropping, but Beyonce on the other hand does.Beyonce just wants her suspicions and hurt to be seen by her lover. This is the first song on her album and it tells everything, It shows her, pain and emotional intimacy. “Pray You Catch Me”is another song of hers that stands out. This song brings out all of her anger because it looks like a place where you shouldn’t be alone.Beyonce based her album on her relationship, where she releases her frustration and uses her voice and her music to express her feelings and thoughts. Beyonce starts the song off with, “Who the fuck do you think I is ?You ain’t married to no average bitch, boy,”She then goes on to say how she can basically go find somebody else. Beyonce has lots of aggression in her video she is braking stuff as if she is going through everything again.Īnother song that stands out to me is “Don’t Hurt Yourself”. When Beyonce says, “What’s worse, lookin’ jealous or crazy?Jealous or crazy? Or like being walked all over lately ,walked all over lately I’d rather be crazy” makes me think that everything she is saying is coming from recent experiences. Beyonce conveys so much in her video, In the beginning she has an speech then starts her song. Where she is talking to Jay Z, saying how much she loves him. The first song in Beyonce album that stands out to me is “Hold Up”. The only question I have about Beyonce’s album “Lemonade” is why is it called Lemonade? Beyonce conveys so much information and emotion in her songs, that’s what makes me love listening to them. I chose to do Beyonce’s Lemonade album because it’s powerful to me, I feel like I somehow understand how she is feeling. Beyonce is very influential she lives through her music. Beyonce is one of my favorite singers because I love how she tells a story in every song and her songs just always right for each emotion I am feeling and she always tells a story in every song whether it’s meant to be sad, happy or hurt.
